Easter is almost here!!!

April 3-4 2010- I am so excited that Easter is almost here!!! I also know that campus will be buzzing that weekend, with record attendances, and baptisms. So we need everyone’s help! We are not looking for scheduled times, but we are looking for when you are on campus, to pull out your camera and capture the magic around you.

Outreach on Saturday!!!

Wow, we have a lot of opportunities coming down the pike.

Calvary Downtown Outreach- We need people out there taking pictures of all the magic. The Outreach is held in a large parking lot of a downtown area church near North I-15 and Lake Mead. The Outreach lasts from 9:30 am-2:30 pm

Three Square Community Food Bank- What a great way to catch Ridgers as they help feed the community. The time is from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
You will meet at the location spot and check in with Ramona there.

Heart of the City Health and Safety Fair- Be the one to commemorate the First annual Heart of the City Health and Safety Fair. This even will have everything from Vaccines to Prayer. It is one that needs to be remembered. Volunteers will meet at the church to check in at 8:45 AM on March 20 at the kiosks out front.

Verve- Church Plant Flyer Distribution- Catch people as the help spread the word of a new church on the strip. Volunteers will meet at the church to check in at 8:45 AM on March 20 at the kiosks out front.

US Vets- Catch Ridgers as they connect with some of the nations finest, and some of the nations forgotten heroes. This event should be one with lasting memories. You will meet at the US Vets at 11:00 AM and check-in there with the US Vets Site Leader. The address is 525 East Bonanza (corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Bonanza).

April 9, 2010- The Pastors’ Masters… I know this is a tough one since it is a Friday, but it is going to be an amazing event! We need lots of help! Registration starts at 6:30am, and the goes through breakfast, a round of golf, and lunch. We need people stationed on holes, and getting some candid shots here and there. Please let me know if you can help!

June 14-18 2010- Elementary Camp on Campus will be great and we need lots of help. We need 6 volunteers on Mon and Tue, and 2 on Wed-Fri from 6pm-8pm. Please help us give these kids the memories they are looking for, as they learn a little more about God.

Elementary Camp on Campus

We have a great week long serve opportunity coming  up. June 14-18 from 6pm-8pm camp on campus is back!!! We need lots of help for this great event!

June 14-15: We will need 6 people from the ministry. We will need 2 people all over campus getting the candid pictures we all love so much. We will also need 4 people helping with a big craft project that is going to be a lot of fun and extremely memorable for the kids attending camp.

June 16-18: We will need 2 photographers doing more candid shots.

Pastors’ Masters

On April 9 2010 the Canyon Ridge Foundation will be hosting the Pastors’ Masters at Painted Desert Golf Course, to help Canyon Ridge students go to Bible College. We had been called to take pictures for this event. We will need photographers as early as 6:30am for breakfast and registration. We will also need photographers strategically placed on the golf course to catch tee offs, and great shots. It is going to be a fun full day, and could really use your help! The Project 365 Challenge

One week ago today I noticed that a friend of mine was doing a Project 365. The idea is to challenge yourself to take a picture everyday. As I asked her about it she asked me to do one too.

As I thought about it, I know that is not a challenge for me. I have been known as TayTayrazzi for a few years. I love to take pictures, and can be rather annoying to the people closest to me, with the camera.

So as I thought about this challenge more and of doing my own Project 365, the challenge for me would be to take a picture that not only represents that day, but to post it without any photoshop corrections. EEEEK Wait, no red-eye reductions, not black and white layers, no blur backgrounds? Yes, that is my challenge.

So far the pictures have ranged from: my first insert from scratch, to my amazing nieces, to guitars in worship. So what would be a challenge for you? Some people take a picture of them self everyday for a year. Some take a picture of the sunset everyday. Some of their dog, some of their kid. So what will your challenge be?

For me, and for my friend part of the challenge is finding that shot, that moment when God says, this is the moment I have made for you to remember and share. So, who’s in?

New Meeting Schedule for 2010!!!

With the direction of  The Communications Department changing so has Shad’s schedule. As a result our Photo Ministry will now be meeting the first Tuesday of every other month.

We are looking for people to come up with ideas for our meetings to makes sure that we get great use out of our time together.

We are very excited with the new things going on in the Communications department. Including the remodel! Half the office is turning into a photo studio, and are excited that this will be a great new feature for our ministry. We also have another work station that can be used for photo editing and other graphics projects.

If you have taken any pictures around the Ridge that you would like to see them on the CRCC FB, please get them to us. We update the CRCC FB regularly and would love to have your voice represented on there.

King’s Faire 2009…

For the first year in King’s Faire history photoministry is getting a booth to take photos of kids in costume as they arrive at KF.

We are loosely calling it the “King’s Faire Red Carpet Experience”. We are going to need a lot of help with this and want to partition the time into shifts for as many of you who want to participate. Lorisha is heading this up and it should be a fun thing for the kids to do as they come in and show off their costumes. KF is from 4:45 to 9pm, we want to get at least one photographer for each hour shift. We need to know soon if any of you all can participate.

We plan on having assistants helping with line control and we will be printing these photos after ward. All those logistics we’ll be worked out later but we need a commitment from you, let us know if you can help.

Next meeting, the Las Vegas Strip…

Hey Everyone,
On Tuesday, October 13th we our planning our meeting around an outing to Freemont street. So everyone needs to bring their cameras and get ready to do some night shooting under the lights of old Vegas.

We need to know if you all want to take the church shuttle down or if we all want to drive individually. Let me know ahead of time if possible. You can email or leave a comment below. We normally meet at 7pm, but I think we should meet at the church around 6pm to get a head start down there. Should be a good time and we can get a lot of good experience down there. Hope everyone can make it.
